人生中，總有個人，默默守護每一個渺小純粹的夢想。《衝破天際》的女主角原型是中國女宇航員 王亞平 和劉洋，短短七分鐘的動畫不帶任何隻字片語，情感卻相當豐沛。故事主要講述，露娜在鞋匠爸爸的呵護下，追尋太空夢想。原以為內心剛強堅硬的室友看完會無動於衷，沒想到卻率先掉下那不爭氣的眼淚…準備好衛生紙吧！

根據統計，截至2020年有超過550名太空人升空前往國際太空站，但其中僅有65人是女性。在《衝破天際》的記者會上，導演張少甫提到：「大多數的宇航員雖然出身普通，但是對夢想的追求卻毫無保留。宇航員也許是人類最瘋狂、最難以實現的職業，無數人為了實現這個夢想奮鬥了一輩子，最終能成為宇航員的人卻屈指可數。」

要成為宇航員是非常艱難的過程，必須經過嚴厲的選拔與訓練，還要有很好的抗壓心理能力，對身體素質要求很高，甚至皮膚上的疤痕、蛀牙、腳繭都不能有。而選拔女航天員的條件更為嚴苛，要從體力、智力、精力三個方面進行考驗，可想而知中國首位及第二位女太空人「劉洋」及「王亞平」她們的意志力必定異於常人！
